Boyan graduated wood-carving and applied arts vocational college in his hometown Teteven. During his career as a tattoo artist since 2000, he has worked in Bulgaria, as well as abroad.

Since 2008 he has worked in England and guest-starred in many well-known tattoo shops in Europe. While in York, Boyan met Kai from Danmark who taught him the old traditional method of tattooing called dotwork. He joined Metal Monkeys in 2011.
